Your treatment doesn’t end when you leave.
Following your massage, your body and mind continue to process the benefits- releasing tension, restoring balance and encouraging deep relaxation.
Taking a little time fore yourself after your appointment can help extend these effects and support your overall wellbeing.
Here are some gently aftercare recommendations to help you get the most from your treatment.
Hydration
Hydrate and nourish
Drinking water after your massage helps support your body as it rebalances.
Massage encourages circulation and the movement of fluids within the body, so staying hydrated can help you feel refreshed and prevent any feelings of sluggishness.
Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the rest of the day.
Opt for a lighter meal rather than a heavy meal after massage.
Rest
Allow yourself time to rest
Your body has entered a deeply relaxed state and its important to honour that.
If possible, avoid rushing back into a busy schedule. Give yourself time to unwind whether thats a quiet evening, gentle movement, or simply putting your feet up.
This is where the real benefits begin.
Showering & bathing/ Direct sunlight
Avoid showering or bathing if possible when essential oils have been used to allow the oils to absorb into the skin. If possible leave 12 hours , if bathing avoid hot baths.
Avoid use of sun beds and direct sunlight.
Avoid Stimulation
Keep things gentle
Avoid alcohol, caffeine or intense physical activity for the rest of the day.
Your nervous system has been encouraged into a calm, balanced state- keeping your environment peaceful will help maintain this feeling.
