What to expect at your treatment session


  • Consultation 

    Before having your aromatherapy massage we will carry out a consultation to determine suitability &  create a bespoke blend for you. We take a holistic approach & we will discuss the best areas to target the massage. 

     During your therapy

    We ask to get undressed ( depending on target areas)  in privacy and you can comfortably get onto the massage couch.

    Your modesty & comfort is our top priority.  Our therapist will then carry out the massage therapy with the blended oil where discussed. 

    After your therapy

    You will have time to come round from your relaxing massage. The therapist will advise you on after-care and give you a leaflet to take home.  We generally advise to: 

    * Avoid alcohol, drink plenty water. 

    * Opt for a lighter meal 

    * Avoid showering for at least 8 hours.

    *Avoid other skin/hair products.

    *Avoid sunbeds & direct sunlight.

    *Relax & recharge.

     Before your therapy 

    We ask you arrive promptly and clean with no other skin products & without jewellery. We want you to benefit  fully from the massage and blend and to be as comfortable as ​possible.​​​

    Carrier  & Essential oils The carrier oils and essential oils chosen for you have therapeutic  properties and picked for your specific needs and skin/hair type. Any allergies or intolerances are taken into account on selection.

  • Traditional ~Indian Head massage has been practised for thousands of years and was introduced to the UK by Narenda Metha. IHM massage is a massage focussing on the upper part of the body, neck , head, scalp, ears and face and practised seated.

    A consultation form will be filled in before the first session.

    IHM massage can be given fully dressed (with comfortable clothing) or directly to skin. Oils can used be used on the skin and face or just the head and scalp. Using specific oils in IHM can encourage hair growth or give moisture to the hair if required.

    IHM sessions can be stand alone but are also advised as a course to get full benefit.

    A typical session will begin with you sitting comfortably in a safe environment with a blanket.

    Using soothing and stimulating techniques the therapist will start on the upper back and shoulders moving on to arms ands hands if the client would like to do so.

    The neck is then taken through a range of slow movements to release tension. Next techniques are used on the ears, scalp and hair to help stimulate ad improve circulation.

    Finally finishing the massage on the face.

    After facial massage I can include stimulation of Marma points, if chosen by the client. Stimulating marma points can help improve energy flow, relieve tension and promote emotional balance and circulation. Stimulation of marma point on the face can help relieve sinus blockage, can help with mental clarity, stress reduction and better sleep to name a few.

    We begin with a consultation to understand how your feeling and what you need from your session.

    You will be guided into a comfortable position, allowing your body to fully relax. Gentle breath work will help you settle the nervous system before moving into a calming guided meditation.

    Throughout the session, you are fully supported- there is nothing you need to do, simply listen, breathe and allow yourself to rest.

    Afterwards you’ll have a few quiet moments to return gently, leaving you feeling grounded, calm and restored.
